It was my second time visiting Chiang Mai and this time I wanted to experience staying in a boutique hotel. I am pleased to report the hotel I chose turned out to be the best! So today I’m sharing my experience which hopefully helps you decide where to stay in Chiang mai as well. Here I present you Chiang mai riverside hotel review.

Upon landing at Chiang Mai International Airport, I was met by a staff member with a big smiley face and signboard with my name on it.  Then after a quick 15 mins ride in a private luxury minivan, I arrived in The Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel where I was greeted by lovely, smiling staff who took my bags and processed with my check-in. The whole process took only a minute or two and right after I was accompanied to my room and made familiar with the room’s features and amenities. The Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel is modern luxury with Lanna touch.

Hotel: The Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel
Chiang Mai, Thailand
Room: VORRA-TEERA SUITE

Introduction/Location:

Chiang mai riverside hotel review
Chiang mai riverside hotel review

Chaing Mai is the best place if you’re looking for a break from the hustle-bustle of the city of Bangkok. It’s quite busy as well, yet a little more refreshing. The food is amazing, the markets are big and colorful and the surrounding boasts with incredible nature and adventure activities.

The Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel is in a great location right by the serene Ping river and its pristine surrounding.  As you walk in the reception you can see clean, classy and beautiful decor inspired by the ancient Lanna architecture and smiling faces of the staff. This beautiful boutique hotel is the 14 of 1 and 2 bedroom suites with modern design, impressive service, and highly rated local cuisine. No wonder they have won multiple awards like the prestigious World Luxury Hotels Awards 2017.

The Old City in Chiang Mai is only 15 minutes drive from the hotel. It is also easy to arrange uber or grab to pick you up or you could grab a Tuk Tuk for at most 300 baht ($11 AUD) that will take you to the Old City.

Chiang Mai Riverside Hotel sets the new standard in service and satisfaction for the city’s luxury boutique hotels scene. The decor is beautiful and elegant and yet very comfortable and homey.

The luxury hotel also offers Butler service.  I really like this special touch as it is a dedicated service in which no request was too small. When you check-in, your butler will familiarize you with the hotel’s services and surroundings, and if you like, he/she will assist in unpacking your luggage and arranging your items. They shall be your point of contact during your stay and shall ensure that all your needs are answered promptly.

My Suite: VORRA-TEERA SUITE

Upon walking in the first thing my eyes caught were the beautiful chandelier and the stunning aesthetic of the room.
My suite was absolutely beautiful. When I first walk in, I enter the living/dining/ kitchen area. The dining/kitchen area was greatly set up with the kitchen being very basic but having all the essentials such as cooking hob, full-size fridge, kettle, microwave that also works as a grill, and is decorated very beautifully. With the kitchen being open plan it allowed a natural flow to the dining table and chairs to be placed as well.  Personally, I loved the look and feel of a stunning chandelier, lovely flowers, marble-topped dining table, 40 years of finely crafted wooden chairs, minibar and classic photographs on the wall.  It definitely gave the sense of home away from home.

Then my room extended to the living room where the cozy sofa was, and television with numerous channels for entertainment along with Samsung Smart TV, Apple TV and Apple Music as well!

With the hot humid temperature outside, Air conditioning can be vital in Chiang Mai and I’m glad to report it worked like a charm here in Chiang Mai  Riverside Hotel. Then a clean balcony overlooking the beautiful swimming pool and garden view with pretty lights on evenings. They also had nice outdoor furniture to relax. Everything was thought of and catered to.

On to the bedroom, the most comfortable bed/mattress in Chiang Mai with the sophisticated soft linens and feathered pillows. I remember feeling like I was melting into the most comfortable pillows I had had the pleasure of using. My suite came with the bedroom that leads to a walk-in closet, and a bathroom that is accessible from the bedroom, or the living room.

The walk-in closet was spacious and bathroom well designed with every little thing you might need or desire during your stay. Everything was top of the line materials including Molton Brown, London’s bath, body and beauty connoisseurs since 1973.  My bed was huge comfortable with a television on the wall for entertainment and also had access to a bathroom with its own toilet, shower, and toiletries.  I felt everything was designed and finished to a high standard, both luxurious and stylish in line with the theme of the hotel.

Let’s take a glance at my full stocked minibar 🙂

Some little extras that I loved were the butler service, room service, water bottle covers, the tours on offer throughout the week at the hotel, the comfortable robes, and slippers, the complimentary coffee and tea available for guests.  I also loved the lighting is zoned and adjustable to create the perfect mood or ambiance.  Oh, and did I mention the butler service? That was the cherry on top!

The Vorra Bistro:

I had two different sets of breakfasts every morning and both were fresh and tasty. I had pancakes and the other day Lanna breakfast. Then for lunch, I had Squid Pasta with seafood which comes with garlic bread as aside. I must add it was the tastiest pasta I had in Thailand.  For dinner, I had a Thai set menu which was amazing as I got to try the authentic northern Thai food.

The live Band Duo was awesome, added a nice touch to the evening 🙂

I can wholeheartedly say The Vorra Bistro at  The Chiang Mai Riverside has the best Thai and western foods in town. Plus the interiors decoration is easy on the eyes and pleasant. I loved it! Oh, and how can I forget their buy 1 and get1 free cocktails Happy hours!

If you are also looking for luxury in Chiang Mai, and truly unique experience while exploring the area than I can highly recommend this place. Consider staying here for a few days, immerse yourself in the luxury, delicious food and speak to local staff and just enjoy Chiang Mai Riverside!

I was very happy with the room, food, and the service I received.

Thank you for the amazing stay The Chiang Mai Riverside. I can’t wait to be back one day!

This beautiful boutique hotel sets the new standard for luxury hotels in Chaing Mai. I hope you get to enjoy it for yourself soon!

What I used to take these photos:

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera

This has been my favorite Camera so far. I love how my pictures come out crisp and colorful. It also has a screen which is useful when vblogging. You can check out what I meant on my Instagram which is here.

Accessories For Canon GX7 Mark || Check it out here

GoPro HERO4 Silver

This is the good old Go pro that I take with me everywhere. I recommend it because it is small, lightweight and waterproof. I have had made many memories with this trusted item and looking forward to more.

Accessories For Go Pro Hero 4 Check it out here

SanDisk 64 GB Memory Cards

I have been using SanDisk since my first camera which was back in 2009. They build quality memory cards. I recommend getting at least two, just in case something happens to one of them.

All-in-One Memory Card Reader

Do you think it’s a hassle of plugging your camera into your computer? This memory card reader will fit cards of all sizes and make an easy transfer to your computer. The reader supports all popular SD memory card formats, including SD™/SDHC™/SDXC™ memory cards, UHS-I SDHC/SDXC memory cards, and microSDHC™/microSDXC™ memory cards. It is also compatible with the latest UDMA 7-enabled CompactFlash cards.
